“Personable and understanding”
“Kayla came across as personable and understanding, she was not pushy in any way. She also asked a lot of questions to understand what I really needed and that helped me be clearer with her.”

The website design process
Step 1:
Get in touch for a discovery call
A simple 30 minute conversation, where you have the chance to ask questions and I’ll ask you about your business. We’ll explore how creative branding can help you reach your goals.
Step 2:
Receive your proposal
I’ll put together a detailed proposal suggesting a clear path for us to work together. It’ll include a quote and a suggested route towards those all-important goals. You’ll also have the option to add on branding design.
Step 3:
The briefing
Once we’ve signed our contracts, I’ll invite you to go through the briefing process. This is where I listen, observe and work to uncover the essence of your business. So we can weave that story into your website. I can also signpost you to resources to help with your photography and copy if you wish.
Step 4:
The Wireframes
I start sketching out your website’s wireframes, which are essentially the rough layout of your design. Sometimes, I’ll share these with you if we’re doing a more complex build. Otherwise, I use these as the foundation when we move onto the design.
Step 5:
The Design
This is the fun part! I start bringing the wireframes to life, adding your brand personality and focusing on usability. We’ll have a few rounds of edits included so we can get it just right.
Step 6:
Site Development & Launch
I start bringing your design to life by creating your website on your chosen platform. All sites are responsive, so they look great on mobile devices and computers. After testing the site, it will be launched for your audience to enjoy!

“She’s always going above and beyond”
“Kayla redid our Shopify website for a second time (upgraded it to 2.0) to keep up with our growing and evolving brand story!
She is incredibly talented at hearing an idea (via sometimes jumbled email think) and quickly creating something that helps put the idea into an easy to understand visual! She’s also always going above and beyond and teaching me things along the way.”
Holly Sturdivan, Director of Marketing at Puffworks
These little questions might help…
Do you write the website copy too?
My work focuses on visual storytelling, which covers brand design, website design and graphic design. I have a number of different copywriters I recommend who can write your website copy for you. Or, I can give you some prompts if you want to DIY your website copy.
Is there anything I need to prepare for my website, like photography?
It’s always a good idea to think about how you want your website to look and feel before we begin our project. Photography is a big part of this, so I do recommend working with a professional photographer. I have some favorites who I can recommend if needed.
I might need some more bespoke features. Is this something you can do?
Of course. That’s why I don’t prescribe a set website design package. Instead, we’ll work to create a solution that’s unique to you and what your business needs.
Tech stresses me out, how complex will this be?
That’s okay! A lot of my clients come to me experiencing tech overwhelm. I’m here to minimize the stress, by training you to run your website without any hassle.
Do you offer payment plans?
I do. Please get in touch and we can talk about creating a payment plan that works for you.
Is website hosting included?
Whilst I can help you to set up your website hosting and domain registration plan, this will be a separate charge directly from your hosting provider. I make some recommendations to help you with this.
Who will own my website?
You will! Once the final payment has been made, you’ll be the proud owner of your new website. I won’t hold it hostage, promise.
Can you help me improve a pre-existing website?
If your website is already on WordPress or Shopify then I can either work with you to improve it or we can upgrade it to a newer version. If you’re on a different platform, it might be better for us to migrate your website over to either of those two options.
I need an online store. Is that something you can create?
Yes! I offer ecommerce functionality for both WordPress and Shopify.
